I’ve been spouting on every post on Oppositelock that asks if Windows 10 is a good idea that I think it’ll make everything subscription based and it’s a conspiracy and here’s the first example of it.

Free-to-play ... now permeating every aspect of our existence. Soon we’ll be paying a small monthly fee to breathe advertising-free air.

If we have to pay for ad-free air, I hope I just choke on all the Geico Mayhem ads. Those are funny.

They start putting these on programs you don’t use so that when they put it on things like charging you $5/month to use Ad-Free Start Menu, they’ll be like, you’ve been using subscription based Windows 10 this entire time and you’re still fine!

Microsoft is simply following Apple’s lead of no longer charging for OS updates.
Unless they’re both going to start charging for things that used to be free. It’s like the airlines with checked baggage fees! Collusion!

Win10 - Win8 = 2
Win10 free upgrade for 1 year.
2 + 1 = 3 Half Life 3 confir... But Wait! There’s more!!1!
MS Skipped Win9. 9-3 = 6
3^6 = 729
Windows is 29 years old. Last edition was Win8. 29-8 = 21
3*21=63
729-63 = 666
[Got the photo from reddit; my red line conspiracy game is not up to task for this level of fuckery]

Uh, you know they already said they were doing the whole subscription thing, right?
There is no conspiracy. MS has stated explicitly that they want to move Windows to a service. Some features will be subscription based.
